Belfast Lough - Belfast To Holywood

Photographs from the Belfast docks to Holywood along the coastal path.
Belfast Lough - Belfast To Holywood

Belfast Lough, a couple miles wide and stretching from the city 16 miles out to the Irish Sea, is the one part of the Country I know best. Short drive and I can pick any point for a stretch of the legs. I've walked all of it, though not in one go yet. The landscape is a mix of distant rolling green hills, rocky shores, and beautiful beaches.

The lough itself ranging from deep cobalt to shimmering turquoise, depending on the time of day and weather conditions. The waters reflecting the moods of the sky,  delivering a treat for the eyes.

Below are some pictures from the old Shipyard area heading along past the army barracks towards the village of Holywood. About 5 miles, this stretch is mostly road and buildings, the least attractive part of the path.
